Texas October-Toaster-Fest
San Marcos Texas, October 7-9, 2010
The 2010 TCA Annual Convention will be hosted by Bruce and Beverly Coates at the Holiday Inn Express, 108 IH 35 North, San Marcos TX 78666, 512-754-6621. The hotel has been updated within the past year, and is conveniently located on US Interstate Highway 35. There are numerous eating places near-by, and Luby’s Cafeteria, Red Lobster, and Chili’s restaurants are located adjacent to the hotel parking lot. San Marcos is situated between both San Antonio (45 miles) and Austin (30 miles), so you may want to allow extra time for Texas site-seeing while you’re at the annual TCA convention.
The TCA room rate is $99.00 per night, for up to three nights beginning Thursday, October 7, and the rate includes the complimentary breakfast bar, which features fresh hot cinnamon rolls. Additional taxes of 15% are applicable to each day’s lodging charge. A block of 15 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express has been reserved by the TCA, 5 rooms with king-sized beds, and 10 rooms with 2 double beds. Book early if you need a king-sized bed, as the hotel will reserve them on a first come – first served basis, and there are no additional rooms with king bedding available at the TCA special rate. All Holiday Inn Express rooms must be reserved no later than August 23, 2010 due to the high-volume of local hotel business during the fall football season at Texas State University in San Marcos. Mention the Toaster Collectors Association or TCA when making your reservations. Also, check-in time is 3:00 PM, with a 12:00 noon check-out on the day of departure. We have reserved the meeting room for three full days beginning Thursday AM, so an early afternoon exit from the meeting space on Saturday will not be necessary.
We are very excited to have the TCA members and other interested collectors coming to the Great South-West in 2010! More details will be furnished as the 2010 convention approaches. Go to hiexpress.com/sanmarcostx for more particulars on the hotel and the immediate area’s attractions.
